Dallas Mavericks

Do you notice that everyone else talks about the Dallas Mavericks playing down to everyone else's level this year? I think that the Mavs under Avery may be experiencing a difference in philosophy this year. I think Avery is easing the clutch in, instead of spinning the tires early and taking off to a torrid pace to lead the league in wins again. Instead emulate the Popovich way of easing in to 2nd or 3rd in the division in the first half of the season, and then mashing the pedal late in the second half of the season with a late surge that puts them within a win or two of whomever is ons on top in the west and a 2nd or 3rd seed in the playoffs.

Yeah, the Mavs have been the regular season kings, but their playoff implosions mean that Avery needs to pace them to peak later, as in the playoffs. If he can pull it off, he will finally bring them to the pinnacle they have been chasing the last 4 years, and put to rest their stigmas. Stay tuned, and don't be upset at losses to the Raptors or whichever team is playing hot for less than 1 week.

Oh, and no more Cuban on Dancing with celebrities.
